Read two books inside of a week. Watched the Preakness with Carole via phone. Posting. Neural activity definitely rebounding.

Read Melissa Marr's first book, Wicked Lovely, and her second book, Ink Exchange, cover to cover in both cases. Excellent example of a world I find both fascinating and revolting. Characters elicited these same responses. At this point, were there a book so large as to accommodate, I'd press every one of these faeries save Niall and The Gabriel. I have a jones for touching Darkness as long as I can wash my hands, I suppose. <wicked grin>

On the sunlit side, Big Brown won his Preakness and the Belmont looms in three weeks with Casino Drive. I would love to see a Triple Crown winner so long as he or she [It could happen!] is a deserving Triple Crown winner. Until Big Brown beats someone worthy in a real stretch duel, I'm going to wonder if he is good or his classmates are second-raters.

Real Life: I'm told interviews for the new job I want will begin this coming week. This process cannot accelerate fast enough for me. Finally got the head off the last boss who I most deservedly staked years ago only to find it seems she did indeed bite my current boss who, like me, was a minion of the Evil One. Had really hoped he'd left before he got tainted, but alas, not so. Where's that pointy length of ash and my hammer.......

My favorite memory is no single moment. It is the collective glow her love has cast over every moment of my life. In the darkest hours of despair and on the pinnacles of accomplishment, she is THERE, my heroine and my greatest admirer. Regardless of what life may throw at me for good or ill, she LOVES ME, no matter what.
